Chicago Teachers Union president promises ‘It’s not over’
Chicago Teachers Union president Karen Lewis took to the streets today to lead a rally against “Murder Mayor” Rahm Emanuel’s plan to close 53 city schools. When she says she’s doing it for the kids, would she lie? Well, as EAG News points out, she might encourage teachers to lie to parents now and then, but that’s only to make the students her “hostages.” No, really.
Who else was present for today’s hostage negotiations? Jesse Jackson, of course, as well as members of Occupy and a “pretty solid anarchist contingent.”
Self-described feminist and anti-capitalist Danielle Villarreal and others provided plenty of photos from the rally.
Mayor Emanuel might have insisted for once he’s interested in “ideas, not insults,” but “Mayor Downhill” isn’t pulling any punches.
